These records represent special postal codes assigned specifically to large organizations (such as the EU Council or major government bodies) rather than a geographic town. Since these codes are institutional rather than regional, they do not belong to a standard administrative province.

Q: Why do I see organization names like "RTL-TVI" or "SINTERKLAAS" in the city column?

This is a unique feature of the Belgian postal system. Large organizations receive their own unique postal codes. In these cases, the localité column reflects the organization's name (e.g., "Christelijke Sociale Organisaties") rather than a town name. Our dataset includes these to ensure you can validate any official Belgian postal code.

Q: Is the data in French or Dutch?

The dataset follows the official naming conventions defined by Bpost. Generally, names are provided in the language of the region (e.g., "Antwerpen" in Dutch, "Bruxelles" in French).
